Finmeccanica wins EUR 218 million contract in Saudi Arabia 
Ansaldo STS and AnsaldoBewda have been chosen by the general contractor Saudi Binladin Group to design, build and put into service the automatic metro system for the campus of the Princess Noura Bint Abdulrahman women's university in Riyadh. The contract is worth a total of EUR 218 million, of which Ansaldo STS' share is approximately EUR 149 million; and AnsaldoBreda' share approximately EUR 69 million.
 
The construction of this automatic metro is an historical event for Saudi Arabia, because it is the first of such systems to be built on the world's largest university campus.The agreement was signed yesterday at the stand of the parent company Finmeccanica at the Le Bourget Air Show in Paris, in the presence of chairman and CEO Pier Francesco Guarguaglini. The contract was signed by the chairman of the Saudi Binladin Group, Sheikh Bakr Binladin, Sergio De Luca, CEO of Ansaldo STS and Salvatore Bianconi, CEO of AnsaldoBreda.
This contract gives Ansaldo STS a foothold in the Saudi Arabian market, today one of the most active in the rail and metro transport sector, and lays the foundations for a strategic alliance with one of the most important players in the Middle East.
 
Second day at the Paris Air Show 
Finmeccanica's agenda of the second day at the Paris Air Show was opened with the MBDA Press Conference, held by Antoine Bouvier, focusing on new markets.

Moreover, Finmeccanica top management also welcomed several Italian Delegations: Gen. S.A. Daniele Tei, Chief of Staff of Air Force, Gen. Vincenzo Camporini, Chief of Defence General Staff, Gen.C.A. Giuseppe Valotto, Chief of Interforce Operative Board, G.Isp Capo Giovanni Perrone Compagni, National Director of Air Armaments and National Secretary for Defence and On.
